NANTUCKET

Sadly, I didn’t physically make it to Nantucket this summer but I have been dreaming of it and it’s on my bucket list for the future. We opted for downtown Cedarburg instead to still give us those coastal Nantucket vibes with the hydrangeas, white picket fence, wicker details, and blue + white gingham.

There was a hot second while putting this look together that I looked like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz (it’s hard to unsee it now!!) BUT I think we were able to turn it around with the espadrilles and wicker details. It’s definitely giving more coastal grandmother/grandmillennial/Serena & Lily vibes versus putting on my glittery red pumps and getting ready to take down the Wicked Witch of the West and her little baddie flying monkeys!

I know I touched on this in my last post and I plan to do a full post on it in the future but I love a good mix of high low fashion. I have been enjoying Shein for more trendy pieces like summer dresses and mixing it with my investment piece accessories like my monogrammed Mark & Graham handbag that was a birthday gift from my in laws. Handbags and shoes have always been my splurge worthy items and I usually tend to spend less on my garments. Don’t get me wrong, I still splurge on certain garments; however, my weight tends to fluctuate based on the season of life I’m going through (physical season like winter and also emotional season like being stressed) so I find myself having to buy varying sizes more frequently. More on that to come!

Anyways, my mindset this summer has been if you can’t travel where you want to go, bring it to you instead! That is exactly what I did with this Nantucket look. It was fun feeling like I was somewhere else while shooting! A little vacation just a town over from home.

I know this may sound cliched and I know I am so late to the fashion blog scene but I have really been enjoying coming up with concepts for shoots, scouting locations, putting together the looks, shooting them, and preparing the blog posts. I have been struggling creatively and it has been so refreshing to have this creative outlet that is all mine without deadlines, budgets, and restrictions. It truly is just a fun space to create!

So thank you for being here and for joining me on this journey. I want this to be a safe space where we can talk about style and fashion but also life. I have plenty of days where I just feel like a potato or a naked mole rat or sometimes both but I also have days where my outfit makes me feel like I could take on the world. I think it’s about sharing the highs and lows and everything in between. That’s what makes life so special - doing it all together! Thank you again for sharing this with me. Until next time!
