DOOR COUNTY

Photographer: Ben Rennicke, my beloved Instagram husband // Outfit Details - Dresses: (bottom to top) Jason Wu, Agua by Agua Bendita, and Shein (Keep in mind a high low mix is my fashion philosophy. You’ll be seeing A LOT more of this! This probably warrants its own blog post in addition to a discussion about Shein. Noted!) Sandals: Hermes + Gucci Bag: Celine Sunglasses: Louis Vuitton Jewelry: Normal ;) (We can still be friends if you understand that reference!)

I am finally sharing all my looks from our Rennicke family vacation to Door County at the end of August just as we are getting ready to head up there again tomorrow to celebrate my parent’s anniversary. Big Door County Girlie over here!!

We go up every year at the end of August and it always is such a blast ending the summer with a bang in one of our favorite places. Sadly, this year I got sick AND it was that time of the month (Why do they always hit at the same time!?) but that didn’t stop me from wearing some of my favorite summer looks.

Door County is like the Nantucket of the Midwest so I usually stick to a coastal color palette of white and blue. I tend to wear dresses in the summer and jeans + sweaters in the cooler months. Our first night there it was a bit chilly so I wore jeans and a sweater and to be honest, I didn’t hate it! Fall is my favorite season so it felt good to bust out a little sweater. The other nights I stuck with summer dresses (even if it was grey and rainy) as a final farewell to summer.

The white tiered maxi dress with eyelet trim was the Jason Wu find of the year! I could not believe my eyes when I found it. It is such amazing quality and will be a dress I will have for years to come. I think it will be a perfect dress to document a pregnancy some day. I feel very maternal and wholesome in the best way possible when I wear it. Some day! That’s why I love a good mix of investment pieces you will have for years to come in addition to more affordable trendy pieces to add to the mix. Love a good high low mix always!

Also, I am totally obsessed with my Agua by Agua Bendita dress seen in the mirror selfie. I have been thinking about it since May and finally decide to pull the trigger a couple weeks ago. Don’t worry - I did a whole shoot with just that dress because it deserves to have A MOMENT. More of that dress to come so soon!!

Clearly my Celine straw tote bag was the star of the trip since I wore it with every outfit. I love how versatile it is and literally went with every look. It had the right amount of space for vacation and I definitely will be using it again for many summers to come. I have been LOVING everything Celine is doing right now so be prepared for a Big Celine Girlie this fall. I have a couple accessories en route and may have to save up for a few more pieces as everything is just too good!

I am excited to head back up this weekend and wear some more transitional (every fashion professional’s favorite word this time of year!) looks - think fall florals and rich textures like silk and cable knit. I can’t wait to start sharing fall looks soon but I have a couple more summer looks to share first. Until next time!
