NAVY LADY
This outfit has been my go to the past couple of weeks! It has quickly become my fall hyper fixation outfit for a couple reasons.
First, the fit on this dress is SO GOOD. I knew this style was going to be flattering the second I tried it on. The puff sleeves add a feminine style element while concealing that upper arm section most women like to hide. The eyelet scalloped hem is such a darling feature that ties the neckline and bodice features together perfectly. This dress looks insanely more expensive and the quality has been great. It’s on sale and comes in two other color ways. The dress did come with a matching bow belt; however, I opted to pair it with my brown suede belt to match my new boots.
Second, these J. Crew brown suede boots are STUNNING! I had my eye on a pair of brown suede boots from J. McLaughlin and even tried them on but just could not justify the pricey price tag when I know I am hard on my shoes. So I ended up finding these J. Crew beauties instead for about a fifth of the price of the J. McLaughlin ones. I would say they fit true to size and have been very comfortable since day one. I usually have a hard time breaking in boots but I wore these my first time for 8 hours on my feet and felt great afterwards - no hot spots or blisters!
Next, a moment for the belt. I will be honest, I only purchased this belt to match the boots but I am so glad that I did. I can accessories all my fall dresses with this belt and boot combo and feel put together in no time. I can’t wait to add this belt to my sweater dresses for winter this year too.
Lastly, the handbag. No, it is not a Birkin. Never say never but I can pretty confidently say I will never spend that kind of money on a handbag. I doubt I will ever have that kind of money to spend on handbag first of all nor would I ever want to carry around something worth that much. This beautiful handbag definitely has the same silhouette as a Birkin but it is from Lily & Bean. I just loved the color and quality of the handbag and thought it would be a fun option to try out the Birkin look for much, much less.
Sorry in advance if you see me rocking this look multiple times this fall!! I also love that I can wear this dress in spring and summer paired with the matching bow belt, white sneakers, and a crossbody bag for a more casual look or paired with gold sandals and matching handbag for a date night look. I really have been trying to be more conscious with my shopping and spending lately to buy more versatile pieces I can get more wear out of. I would find myself buying a dress for a specific occasion and never wearing it again. It felt like a waste of money and space in my closet.
So here’s to working on being a more conscious shopper and getting more wear out of our pieces!
